Grants to
Churches
One of the ministries we provide
to churches is awarding grants. Grant
Policy
The following shall be the policy
and procedure for awarding grants to churches.
-
The Baptist Foundation of
Colorado has "designated accounts" to be used for grants. Any money
remaining in these accounts at the end of the year will be carried over into
the next year.
-
Grant money is to be used only for
emergency situations. An emergency is defined as an unexpected event
which creates needs, and for which the applicant has insufficient resources.
-
The Loan Committee will be
responsible for reviewing and approving grants based solely on need, and
shall be authorized to approve grants to the extend of the funds in the
designated accounts.
-
If a grant application is
received after the finds in the designated accounts have been disbursed, the
Loan Committee may make a recommendation to the full Board of Directors to
withdraw additional funds to cover the grant.
-
The "mother" church should be
first line for emergencies.
-
Grants will only be awarded to
Southern Baptist Churches and Ministries.
-
Grants will generally be used
for property replacement and/or repair.
